For the first time ever in Europe a unique set of work aimed at service life extension for 15 years was performed at power units Nos. 3 and 4; appropriate licenses of Rostekhnadzor were obtained.

Power unit No. 5 of Novovoronezh NPP initially pertained to the second generation now pertains to the third generation as a result of work performed. It completely complies with modern Russian requirements and recommendations of IAEA, and its additional operating term was extended for another 25-30 years.
